The Global Civic Policy Society is committed to encouraging a more knowledgeable citizenry. It hosts Public Salons that introduce citizens to interesting ideas and people. It also works with academic institutions to introduce to the public new ways of thinking about old problems.


Global Civic Policy Society was founded by Sam Sullivan when he was Mayor of the City of Vancouver. Toward the end of his 15 years as City Councillor and Mayor he committed to creating an organization for research and reflection on local government and citizenship.
